Here to Stay: Minnetonkas

Seen on many many many celebrities such as Rachel Bilson, Sienna Miller, Nicole Richie, and my personal favorite Kate Moss, Minnetonkas are a trend that we will be seeing more of this spring.
But would you rather buy actual Minnetonkas for $50 (which you can find at Piperlime.com)

Or would you buy Jimmy Choo's Minnetonka look alikes?
This is the first time I would not choose Choo's I think and gladly save a couple of hundreds!!!!
Oh and for those of you who can't distinguish between the two, the top one is a $50 minnetonka and the bottom is a $495 Jimmy Choo pair!

Benefit Eye Bright

A makeup artist favorite, Benefit Eye Bright is a pink-toned pencil that can be used under eyes to conceal and brighten dark circles and shadows.

Double Duty: It works equally well on the inner corners of the eyes, down the center of the nose, around the nostrils, or anywhere else you could use a little skin-flattering luster.

I have not seen a more versatile product before! This is sooo cool!

You can find it at Sephora @ $18.

Is Old Navy the new H&M?

Hey Listen up fashionistas! Apparently Old Navy is relaunching its brand to target 20 somethings. They will be shipping new merchandise to stores every month and changing their logo, store etc...
The first collection is themed around "Safari Look." I am already loving it...
Here's a sneak peak picture! The styles should be out in February, only in Manhattan I think...

Tolani Scaves Part Two

Everyone has been going crazy over Leopard print scarves that fashionista celebrities such as Sienna Miller, Olsen Twins and Kate Moss have been wearing. Although those Louis Vuitton scarves have long been sold out, Tolani again comes to our rescue.

You can find these cute leopard print scarves at Shop Intuition
Listen to your wild side!!!!

Scarf Obsession: Sir Alistair Rai

Oh how do I love scarves! They always turn a boring outfit into a cool one just by one wrap
And I discovered Sir Alistair Rai's indian inspired cool scarves which you can find on their website

Here's a couple I loved! Such fun colors and just the right stylish touch!

There really is a message of Love & Peace through scarves this year which started off with Love Quotes...

In a similar fashion Sir Alistair Rai says "Rai's collection brings ancient teachings into today's world. These are powerful messages that scream to be heard, and echo with strength. Will Sir Alistair Rai's collections change the world? Probably not, but it could remind the person that wears it that their actions can. After all, beauty, truth and love never go out of style. That said, live truthfully."

Cool! I love it!

Bring out your Wild Side: Torn

Torn t-shirts are so cute with their animal themed prints. When Safari theme is so in, this is a safe way to join the trend without looking like you are on your way to a South African Safari.
With cute jean shorts such as this True Religion one, this is a wild pair for hot summer days in the horizon...

Look of The Day: Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria looks flawless in this J Mendel dress in her movie's premier. I don't know how Over Her Dead Body is going to do but her outfits so far while promoting this movie has been amazing!!!!
I found a few similar/cute dresses for your enjoyment at Saks Fifth
A Couture version from Galliano

And an affordable chic version from BCBG

Also found another cute affordable dress from asos.com

Trend Alert: Tie Dye

We have seen lovely Ali Larter's Donna Karan dress. (which you can find on dkny.com)

And ever since, I have been seeing Tie-dye trend on evening/cocktail dresses to casualwear. Besides the cute Donna Karan dress, I also found this LaRok tunic that is casual and beachy.

And tie-dye t-shirts are totally fashionable again!
Such as this Love Yaya tee from Shopbop

Are you ready to dig out your tie-dye tees from your closet?

Prime & Proper: Marc by Marc Jacobs Cardigan

This Marc by Marc Jacobs cardigan has a Chanel-esque lady look with an affordable price tag. Good find
You can buy it at Saks.com

Best of SAG (According to moi)

My favorite outfits from last night's SAG Awards
I think the jewelled necklines really stood out as the "in" it factor for gowns during this award show. And I think each of these actresses applied this trend extremely well in their own unique way and they really stood out for that.
Amanda Bynes looks like a princess. Kate Hudson is her usual bohemian beauty. And Debra Messing is one beautiful Mod lady...
Comments? Other favorites?

Breaking down Winter Chic: Lauren Conrad

I think Lauren Conrad has put together an awesome outfit.
Here's how I would break it down
Blazer from L.A.M.B. at Shopbop

Seven Jeans - Stirrup in Black from Revolve

And a Love Quotes scarf from Pink Mascara
I suggest Love Quotes in Lager - it is an awesome color - tad bit edgy but not too edgy that you can't wear it with everything

Message Bracelets

Do you remember the days of Message T-shirts? When it got so out of control that complete strangers shared too much information through their tees?
Well thankfully that trend cooled off a little.
But now there is a cool and more subtle alternative
Jessica Kagan Cushman Bangles...

Such as this one that says "Does this bracelet make me look fat?" hihihih
You can find this one and many more at Shopbop.com
My personal favorites are
When I am good, I am very good
Ripped off by Chanel

Funny! Oh, I love fashion that feels good!

Breaking Down Airport Chic

Kylie Minogue looks so cute and comfy in her fresh out of the airplane look!
Here's how I would break it down...
Corpus Lambskin Leather jacket (leather jackets are such a great investment!) from Revolve Clothing

Juicy Couture cardigan also from Revolve Clothing

True Religion Joey Flare Leg Stretch jeans in Light Baja from Shopbop.com (I swear by these, sooo comfortable!)

And a cute hat from Marc by Marc Jacobs (also from Shopbop.com)

Both comfortable and stylish without looking like you tried really hard. I think the tackiest thing is when a celebrity walks out of the airport looking like she walked out of a cocktail party... Too stiff...

The Red Obsession: Valentino

Last night in Paris, Valentino Garavani bid adieu to the runway and the fashion world. Known for his elegant iconic red gowns, he retired after 45 years of amazing work in the fashion industry...
Last year, British-based private equity firm Permira bought the Valentino Fashion Group — which also includes the Hugo Boss and Marlboro Classics labels — for $3.8 billion. It has appointed Alessandra Facchinetti, formerly of Gucci, to continue designing the women's line. Let's see what is next from Maison de Valentino...

Is oversize an overkill?

As you know recently I have been very "sensitive" about Katie Holmes' fashionista status. I have not seen someone try sooo hard and fail so badly at being a fashion icon. Now here is Grace Kelly, gracefully carrying an Hermes (named after her) vs Katie Holmes and her Hermes. Uhm, I think you need to draw the line with the oversize bag when it looks like you've packed for a weekend getaway.

Jade Jagger's Cute Skull Accessories

Do you remember last year's trend of wearing skull scarves? I know that look has gotten old and tired... But I still love the Rock and Roll look without looking decked out 90's Guns n' Roses fan.
And Jade Jagger has just come out with cute skull jewellery that is so adorable! A fresh new way to satisfy the Rock and Roll girl in you without looking cheesy!

You can find them at intermix online
I love the satin bracelet and the cuff!

Look of The Day: Eva Longoria

I LOVE Eva Longoria's modern Cleopatra-esque look at the Spice Girls concert in London. The dress is an Alberta Ferretti. Fabulous!

Breaking Down All Business: Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron looks GLOWINGly beautiful walking down the red carpet promoting her new movie Sleepwalking.
I think this is a perfect business outfit as well...
So here's how to breakdown the look

Green Dress from Alice & Olivia @ Bluefly.com

Black Belt from Elegantly Waisted (at Shopbop.com)

And flat black boots from Nine West @ Ninewest.com

"Canvas" Bags

Yes, canvas totes have always been a practical must have. But this blog entry is not about bags with canvas material... This time, I will be talking about a beautiful new trend that I have seen at Prada and Jimmy Choo. Bags that are so elaborately painted that they are almost like a "canvas" and not a bag...
check out this new spring trend. I am not sure whether they are the next "it" bag but they are definitely nice to look at.

Here's Jimmy Choo Polly bag

and here is Prada Fairies bag

Ruffle Alert

Spring shopping is right around the corner and some beautiful dresses have been enticing me on the Pre-order E-racks for some time now.
Some of the most beautiful pieces of the Spring are Ruffle Dresses from Pink Mascara

From Philip Lim

From Madison Marcus

From Rebecca Taylor

Very flattering look if you know what ruffles fit you best...
Philip lim type of all over ruffles create curves, and Rebecca Taylor type of top ruffles create bust...
Use your ruffles wisely

Herve Leger at its best: Sarah Michelle Gellar

Sarah Michelle Gellar has been on a roll...
Herve Leger known for its flattering dresses (worn by tons of celebrities such as Catherine Zeta-Jones, Victoria Beckham, Lindsay... etc etc). I think this Herve Leger on SMG is at its best...
SOOOO flattering, sexy and fashionable!
Some Herve Leger designs can be found at Intermix
Such as this beautiful dress (Warning! High price tags ahead!)
